Divorce. New boundaries + independence. Changes in beliefs, work, or where you call home.
“I’m divorced. I get to choose for myself now. So why am I still living like I need permission?”
“Why am I still explaining myself? To my family. An ex. People who don’t have to live my life.”
“I want to do work that feels like ME. But what would that even be?”
“I’ve done so much work to heal from major issues and trauma in my life. Why does my life still feel organized around it?”
“I’ve moved somewhere new, but I still don’t feel settled. How do I start feeling at home here?”
“I have ideas. I have gifts. I have things I want to SAY and DO. What am I waiting for?”
“I’ve made room for more in my life. Why do I still feel tense, tired or flat when I want to feel ALIVE?”
“What would I wear, say, create or try if I stopped wondering what everyone would think?”
I know the place you’re in.
Hi, I’m Malana.
I changed my life. Then I had to learn how to actually LIVE it.
Over a very short period of time, I moved several times, healed from a decade of addiction, transformed my health, stepped away from unhealthy family dynamics, ended an abusive marriage, + even changed my name for a fresh start!
Then I booked a one-way ticket to Honolulu with just a suitcase + no Plan B.
I’d chosen an entirely different life for myself, and looking back, that was the “easy” part. Discovering who I wanted to become now? That’s been the deepest + most challenging work of all.
I truly understand the “in-between” place you’re in, and I also know how amazing it is to feel yourself coming alive again – maybe even for the first time, ever.
Today, I can say that I genuinely love the life I’ve been building + who I’m becoming, and I would love for you to know what that feels like, too.
In The Becoming™, I weave together my lived experience, my mind-body + nutrition training, + years of helping women recognize their gifts + bring their ideas to life. I’d love to help you create your very own becoming story + meet the woman you’ve worked so hard to set free.

Read more of my storyMy 30th birthday · 2018
I was smiling. But I was hurting. Chronic pain. A daily weed habit. An abusive marriage. Living somewhere I didn’t love.
It all began with wanting to express myself.
In 2020, the day before my 32nd birthday, I was so fed up with hurting + holding so much inside. So I made a wish: “All I want for my 32nd birthday is to express myself.”
I’d been writing my whole life + helping women share their messages and bring their ideas to life. Meanwhile, I was polishing my own life into the “love + light” version, leaving my addiction and chronic physical + emotional pain outside the frame.
I wanted to do, be, have, + say so much more. I just had NO idea what would change – or how much.
Then, a few short weeks after making that wish, I was shaken awake.
As I watched everything going on in the world that year, I started questioning the narrative + sharing my opinions openly, without any filter. I learned I could speak, have people disagree with me, + still stand by what I believed.
That experience led me to deepen my spirituality + open my heart to Jesus outside the confines of religion. It also helped me get radically honest about the kind of life I wanted to truly live.
That summer, I wrote down three more things that I wanted: palm trees, sunshine, community. I didn’t know the “how.” I just knew I needed to finally claim what I wanted + start letting go of what I no longer loved.
This led to a series of moves + new life transitions.
My whole life was now coming into question.
The raw honesty I’d been bringing to what was happening “out there” had begun turning inward. What’s happening in MY life? Where am I still settling? What needs to change? In my marriage? My health? My work?
By 2021, the questioning and the changes became more + more rapid.
Weed had begun loosening its grip until one night I was DONE. After a decade of addiction, I was able to quit overnight, and the craving never came back. I still had chronic pain, but I wanted to find out how to feel better without getting high.
To support that change, I went all in on plant-based eating + detoxed my body. As I began feeling healthier, I felt clearer mentally + more connected spiritually, too. I started seeing my relationships + family dynamics differently.
This led to facing the childhood sexual abuse I’d spent years numbing + running from. That changed how I understood my entire life:
What I’d accepted. What I’d learned to believe about myself. The relationships I was in + the ways I’d learned to function inside of them.
From there, I began setting stronger boundaries, stepped away from painful family dynamics + relationships, and chose my own inner peace over external approval.
This helped me heal the chronic physical pain I’d lived with for years + become much stronger mentally, emotionally, + physically. I felt amazing!
I thought there was hope for my marriage, too, and we even moved to Florida! Palm trees. Sunshine. And I also had a new, supportive community of women I’d connected with. It seemed the vision I’d claimed was coming to life.
But by 2022, everything had come to a screeching halt, and I could no longer ignore the glaring signs. It was finally time to end my marriage.
Fourteen years together, married for six – and it came down to him or me. I chose myself.
We didn’t have children or a house to divide, but there was still a shared life to untangle, post-separation abuse, learned betrayals, + a smear campaign to walk through. It was hard, messy, painful, + confusing... and for a time, I didn’t feel so amazing anymore.
This led to speaking openly about the abuse I’d experienced, and putting words to things I’d spent years holding inside. The wish to express myself had become much bigger than I’d imagined. I was finally telling my own story.
Over those two years, my world kept unraveling, and it completely changed how I related to myself + to the world.
I was starting all over from scratch + building an entirely new identity. I was even inspired to change my name for a truly fresh start.
So much change in a short period of time! And it was only the beginning.
Moving to Hawaiʻi.
In 2023, a few months after my divorce was finalized, I booked a one-way ticket to Honolulu with no Plan B. The move was both for my personal safety + another fresh start. And I was scared.
Moving hadn’t ended everything I was facing. I was still healing, afraid of what might happen next, + finding my footing somewhere entirely new.
There were beautiful days of swimming, exploring, + writing. Days when I wanted connection. But also days when I just wanted to hide.
The messy middle lasted a while.
I’d made enormous changes, made it across the ocean, + was living somewhere I wanted to be. But I still had to learn how to feel safe enough to LIVE this new life.
There was a whole new everyday life to get to know: where I belonged, who I got to know, how I wanted to work, + so much more – while still healing from my past.
Bit by bit, as my nervous system began to settle, I had more room to ask: Who am I NOW? What kind of life do I want to build here?
What do I want to do, say, + wear? What do I want to create + experience? How do I want my home to feel?
I had to be willing to try things without knowing how they’d turn out, change my mind, + let each experience teach me more about myself.
Throughout that time, I drew on my mind-body + creative practices to work through the fear, doubt, + grief that came up as I began choosing differently. I was putting my training into practice in my own life, while continuing to learn + grow.
That’s what I bring to this work.
What began as wanting to express myself changed how I cared for my body, what I believed, + what I was willing to accept. Finding my voice helped me make choices I hadn’t been ready to make. And each new beginning asked me to get to know myself again.
That’s what I bring to my work with women: my training + lived experience of rebuilding a life, finding my voice, + learning to trust what I want.
I know what it’s like to change so much + still be learning how to live differently. To feel excited about what’s possible, while parts of your life still feel unfamiliar.
I understand being free, AND still learning how to LIVE that freedom. And what’s needed to walk this path and to start becoming who you truly are.
Early Hawaiʻi · 2023 → 2026
On the left, I’d just moved to Hawaiʻi during one of the most intense periods of my life. I had NO idea what came next.
A few years later, I’m more sure of myself, at home in my life, + excited about who I am becoming.
Mentally. Emotionally. Spiritually. Physically.
You bring the pieces.I’ll help you connect the dots.
You can choose a different life + still need support learning how to live it.
Maybe divorce changed the future you pictured. Maybe your relationships, beliefs, work, or health have shifted, too. You set a boundary, stepped out of a role, or questioned a belief you’d held for years.
You’ve done so much to heal. Made choices you once couldn’t imagine making. And you still find yourself asking:
Who am I NOW? What do I want? And how do I actually LIVE as her?
You bring your own story. Your relationships, beliefs, gifts, + desires. The life you’ve lived + what you want to experience next.
Together, we explore what matters to you, what you want, + what happens when you begin choosing differently. What do you believe you’re allowed to want? Whose expectations are still shaping the choice? What happens in your body when you say what you actually mean?
We connect those experiences with how you see yourself, how you nourish + care for your body, + what you want to express and experience now. I guide you through practices chosen for you, then create your personalized Becoming Action Plan to help you carry our work into your everyday life.
There’s so much of you to discover. Let me help you bring her to LIFE.

What becoming looks like in my life
I love the life I’ve created. And I’m still becoming.
Where I am now.
I live by the beach in Honolulu. A dream come true. My faith has deepened, my health has transformed, + I have more freedom to express myself.
What I want to let in.
And there’s MORE I want.
More community. More love. More fun. More service. More of trying what excites me. Enjoying what I already have while letting myself dream new dreams into being.
What I’m choosing differently.
I’m growing my writing + coaching in ways that reflect more of who I am now + the women I feel called to support.
I let conversations linger, wear more of what I love, + explore opportunities simply because they excite me.
I’m more present in the life I have + more open to dreaming about what comes next, without getting so consumed by “HOW?” + “What if?”
And I keep using the mind-body + creative practices that help me feel grounded, care for myself, + keep choosing what I want.
That’s what becoming looks like for me now. What does it look like for YOU?
Questions, answered
Let’s make it clear.
Who is The Becoming™ for?
For women finding themselves after divorce + major identity-level transitions. That can include:
Divorce + the end of a long relationship.
New boundaries + independence in family and other relationships.
Questioning or changing long-held beliefs.
Leaving a career, role or way of working.
Moving somewhere new + rebuilding her everyday life.
A life-changing experience that shook up how you see yourself + what you want next.
Maybe the change is less visible: the life that used to fit no longer feels like yours.
You’re ready to explore who you are now, what you want, + how to begin living differently.
What if I’ve already done therapy + a lot of healing?
You may have spent years processing your past + making sense of what you’ve been through. And you can understand so much about yourself while still holding back, second-guessing your choices, or living by old patterns.
We build on the work you’ve already done, focusing on what you want to let into your life now + what happens when you reach for it. If something still keeps you stuck, we can work with that as part of helping you move forward. I’ll guide you in putting what you discover into practice, so you can begin living differently.
Do I need a story like yours? What if I have kids?
No. You don’t need to move across an ocean, change your name, or start your whole life over. Your becoming happens in YOUR life, with your relationships, responsibilities, + schedule in the picture. You do need ninety minutes of privacy. It’s audio only, so you can take the call from anywhere you can find quiet.
What if I don’t know what I want yet?
You don’t have to figure that out before we meet. Helping you clarify what you want is part of our work together.
Sometimes a desire is hard to admit because it feels vulnerable, seems out of reach, or you have no idea HOW it could happen. Other times, you genuinely need space + support to discover what you want. There’s room for both. I’ll help you explore your desires, work with what comes up around them, + find a place to begin. You can acknowledge what you want before knowing how it will all unfold.
Do I need to be creative?
You don’t need to be an artist, and nobody’s grading. You might write a few lines in her voice, work with an image, or say out loud something you’ve never said. Creative exploration is one of the ways we discover + express what you want. No audience. No need to make it impressive.
What happens after our call?
Within three days, you’ll receive your personalized Becoming Action Plan: a recap of our session + practices and actions for the next seven days.
You can email me after our call, including while I write your plan. Email support continues for seven calendar days after the plan arrives, and you can attach a voice note if talking it out is easier.
Is one session enough? Can we keep working together?
The Becoming™ is a complete experience on its own: the session, your personalized Action Plan, + email support. If we’re a fit + you’d like to continue, I offer ongoing private coaching. There’s no commitment to ongoing coaching when you book.
What if life is still complicated?
You don’t need everything resolved. Grief, uncertainty, + practical responsibilities can be part of the conversation. The focus is what you want for yourself now + how I can help you take action.
What happens when I book a Discovery Call?
The Discovery Call is free + separate from your 90-minute session. We’ll talk before you decide whether to purchase.
Choose a time through my booking calendar. We’ll talk about where you are, what you want, + whether The Becoming™ feels like a fit. If we decide to work together, I’ll send your agreement + payment details. Once those are complete, we’ll confirm your session and I’ll send your questionnaire so I can prepare for you.
What should I know before purchasing?
Payment reserves your private coaching experience + is nonrefundable. Your 90-minute session must take place within 30 calendar days of payment. After you purchase, we’ll arrange your session time.
If I need to reschedule, your session window will be extended as needed. If I’m unable to provide your session for any reason, I’ll refund your payment.
Is this therapy?
My work is therapeutic in nature, with coaching as the primary focus. I bring together my mind-body + nutrition training, conversation, self-inquiry, + guided practices to support you as you explore what’s happening in your life + begin choosing differently.
I’m not a licensed mental health professional, and this experience does not provide licensed psychotherapy, clinical diagnosis, or crisis care. It can complement the support you already receive.
Let’s connect
What are you ready to bring to life?
A desire. A question. Something you’re ready to change. You don’t need a polished explanation.
Let’s talk about what you want for yourself now + whether The Becoming™ is the right place to begin.
